Toño, U.S.A./México
Toño is bilingual. He was born in Mexico but goes to school in the U.S.A. He lives in an apartment Chicago with his mother, his uncle and his two younger brothers, Alex and César. Toño would really like a pet but right now, he does not have one.
Toño is 11 years old and in the 6th grade. His favorite teacher is his science teacher because she is funny. He loves science! He likes to read, especially magazines like National Geographic and books about fantasy. He really wants his own computer someday because he likes to play computer games. When he grows up, it is no surprise that Toño would like to be a scientist.
What are Toño’s least favorite things? He
does not like broccoli but he loves lasagna and salad. In general, the
food in his school cafeteria is horrible! The class he likes the least
is art. He is afraid of the dentist and really scary movies. What bothers
him the most? His brothers! But he spends a lot of time with them and
does like to hang out with them. Most days he does not leave his apartment
much in Chicago because his neighborhood is not very safe. He would like
to live in the countryside someday.
